Here's how it works

Your guide to read and replicate

STEP 1: CLEAN & PREPARE

A clean result requires a clean surface.

  1. Thoroughly spray your grout with the pre-cleaner .
  2. Work the cleaner in vigorously with the brush to loosen grease and dirt.
  3. Wipe with a damp cloth.
  4. Important: Now let the joints dry for about 2 hours so that there is no residual moisture left in the material.

STEP 2: APPLY PAINT

...the meditative part. Now color comes into play! Many of our customers find this step almost meditative.

  1. Apply the grout paint along the joints using a brush .
  2. Don't worry, you don't need to be extremely precise. It's perfectly fine if some paint gets on the edges of the tiles – we'll clean that up later.
  3. Make sure the joint is well covered with paint.

STEP 3: LET IT DRY

Patience pays off. For the paint to become durable, it needs to dry thoroughly. Let the paint dry on the tiles and grout for 1-2 hours. During this time, you should avoid using the bathroom and splashing water.

STEP 4: WASHING UP & FINISHING

The “Magic Moment”: Now you reveal your result.

  1. Take the sponge or cloth and moisten it with water.
  2. Briefly soften the excess paint on the tile edges and wipe it away. The paint in the grout will adhere.
  3. Finally, run the cloth over the tiles to remove any remaining streaks.
  4. Your new look is complete!

Note: We recommend using the product within 3 months of ordering and securely closing the can to prevent the paint from drying out.

OPTIONAL STEP 5: REMOVE GROUT PAINT

Back to square one? If you're moving out or want to restore the original state, we recommend acetone.

  1. Apply the product of your choice liberally to the colored grout.
  2. Let it soak in briefly (about 10 minutes), but don't let it dry.
  3. Scrub the loosened paint vigorously out of the pores with a grout brush and water.
  4. Wash off all residues thoroughly with clean water.

Note: Application is at your own risk. If residue cannot be completely removed in some areas, our tip is: simply paint over it with the original color (e.g., gray) or lightly dab the affected areas – this will provide perfect coverage.

Our paints are highly pigmented. Usually, one coat is sufficient. However, if you're making a drastic color change (e.g., from black grout to pure white), a second coat may be necessary. Simply let the first coat dry and apply a second – it will then provide guaranteed coverage.

Yes, absolutely. The principle works equally well on all glazed and smooth tiles, regardless of whether they are light or dark. Because the paint is specially designed to adhere to the rough pores of the grout, it can be wiped off the smooth surface of the tile (even dark tiles) without leaving any residue.
Note regarding extremely rough natural stone tiles: We recommend a small test in an inconspicuous area beforehand.

Yes, that's easily possible. You have two options:

  1. Use our special remover to loosen and wash off the paint.
  2. The often quicker solution: simply paint over the grout lines again in a neutral tone (e.g., gray or white). Since the paint covers so well, the original appearance is instantly restored.

No. Silicone is elastic and water-repellent – paint won't adhere to it permanently. Simply avoid painting the silicone joints (usually in the corners or around the edge of the bathtub) or mask them off briefly.
Our pro tip: Remove the old silicone before painting, paint the joints, and finally apply a fresh bead of silicone sealant. This will make your bathroom look like new.

After washing off the excess dye (after the 5-hour waiting period), we recommend allowing the result another 24 hours to fully harden. After this time, the dye will be waterproof, smudge-proof, and shampoo-resistant.

For floor tiles, we recommend letting the fresh grout dry for at least 4-6 hours before walking on it. After that, you can carefully walk on it in socks. Please avoid wearing street shoes until the paint is completely cured (after approximately 24 hours) to prevent damage to the finish.

Please be patient after washing: The paint needs 24 to 48 hours to fully harden. Only then will it be completely water- and abrasion-resistant. During this time, you should avoid getting water on the grout lines so that you can enjoy your finished result for a long time.
